The perfect push-up is a piece of equipment which any gym could have and a piece of equipment which any gym could live without.
It is definitely easier on the wrists than push-ups on the floor but it really does little to superiorly work your chest during push-ups.
Remember to keep your core tight and don’t let your hips sag towards the floor.
The correct way to perform is to externally rotate your palms as you lower your CHEST towards the floor.
To get the full benefit out of push-ups perform through full range of motion without snapping your elbows at the top.
If you want the perfect push-up you can get it here

Push ups are the classic resistance training exercise with your own body weight. You know that.
The biggest mistake people make while performing pushups is to not start with their chest on the floor.
If you start with your chest on the floor you will develop the proper range of motion.
If you don’t lower yourself all the way to the floor at first, it will be very difficult for your to develop functional strength.
Keys:
1. Keep spine in neutral alignment, this includes your head.
2. Keep Core Tight, same as spine in neutral alignment but focus on drawing in your belly button.
3. Lower your chest all the way to the floor.
4. Keep your shoulder blades retracted.
5. Do not lock out and snap your arms at the top.
If your goal is to build your chest, you can do many more effective exercises for the pecs.
If your goal is to build functional strength, you must master the push-up through full range of motion before you can expect to reach your full potential.
Always perform weight training exercises within your envelope of function.
If it hurts, Don’t Do it.
If you have protracted shoulder girdle, push-ups are not a good exercise to do, especially if you do them wrong.

I have a pretty good lower chest, but the upper chest seems to be lacking some muscle. I have dumbells, a barbell and a bench press machine, but if you have any kind of exercise that would help me it would be appreciated.
Close grip incline bench. Incline bench works your upper chest, close grip benching works your inner chest. Put it together and you work out your upper inner chest. But just to let you know, it is very hard to work out that area, most of the time it just cuts up and it doesnt gain any mass. Clap pushups would be great to.

This is part two of my advanced pushup series. I will be doing 5 different types of advanced pushups and then I will combine them into one heck-of-a-chest workout.
The backpack pushup allows you to work out your chest much harder than with a normal pushup.
This is NOT a beginners exercise, it is for advanced bodybuilders only. If you have not been lifting for at least 6 months, dont even consider doing this because you will most likely get injured.
There are several other unique exercises in my advanced pushup series that I will be putting up individually also. Thanks for your patience, the advanced pushup video IS coming but it takes a long time to edit.
Anyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding. Bodybuilding doesn’t have to be expensive or take a lot of time, gyms are great but home workouts can save you time and money. A cheap dumbbell set from a garage sale or walmart is all it takes to get started with your home workouts.

I have that new irongym door bar thing, and its working great with my arms, but i really need a workout for my upper chest, to build the muscle and make it bigger. anyone have any ideas?
use the irongym bar for deep pushups… you should be able to lay it on the ground and grasp the handles. If I’m thinking of the correct model, your grasp will be about 4-5 inches off the floor which allows you to lower your chest below your grasp. If it doesn’t, then nothing really beats a good old fashioned push up.
You can also put the irongym in the middle of your door, grasp the handles (overhand grasp) with your legs straight out in front of the bar and lower yourself to the ground – your body position should be like that of a ramp almost. Them pull yourself toward the bar… this will help with the chest muscles.

The Bench Press, The Incline Press, Flys, Dips these are all fabulous exercises for building a massive chest. Building a massive chest is only the beginning, a good bodybuilder is like a sculptor but instead of using the traditional brush or a piece of clay you are using weights to forge the chiseled look of perfection. The exercise highlighted in this video is just a great examples of how to finish off your chest to add the detail that is so hard to come by.
