I love sqeezing exercises for chest as most of my results in chest mass and strength have come from this type exercise. I have covered the basic dumbbell fly in a previous video and here I have a cool variant that you do on an incline bench (or a board leaning against a wall). For this incline fly use a light weight, approximately 20% of what you use for incline dumbbell press. In this exercise we keep the arms straight but not locked and the arms are not perpendicular to our sides like in a normal fly, are not alongside our legs, but halfway inbetween. The palms are facing up at a 45 degree angle.
Anyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding. Bodybuilding doesn’t have to be expensive or take a lot of time, gyms are great but home workouts can save you time and money. A cheap dumbbell set from a garage sale or walmart is all it takes to get started with your home workouts.

In my opinion, pushups are the #1 best exercise you can do! They are simple to do and are a great upper body workout for the complete beginner or the advanced bodybuilder. You can get a complete upper body workout by combining these pushups with crunches and pullups, all of which can be done easily at home.
Start by doing knee pushups. If you can do more than 20 of these then they are too easy for you and you should do full pushups.
We want to start slowly to avoid injury, the first two weeks you will only do this workout once a week:
do as many pushups as you can without rest (a set)
rest 2 minutes
repeat two more times (three sets total)
If your joints and muscles feel ok, you can slowly increase the frequency and duration of your pushup workouts until you are doing pushups 3x/week for 20minutes. When you get to the point where you can do more than 20 pushups in all your sets, then its time to move on to a more advanced workout. Please see my website for some suggestions.
The reason many people dont get started in bodybuilding is that it seems to complex and intimidating, thats why I recommend starting out with just pushups and with daily walking (10-30min). Its an easy program, you start feeling better immediately, and your brain starts to associate exercising with feeling good. A recent study showed that as little as 10min of exercise a day can do wonders for you mind and body. Once you brain has made the connection between exercise and feeling good, motivation is no longer a problem and you will find yourself wanting to add new exercises.
If you are overweight and can only do 3 knee pushups, dont be discouraged, its not the number of pushups you can do that is important but the effort. For those of you who are overweight, think of it this way, you are lifting far more weight in your pushups than your lighter counterparts so its natural that you cant do as many pushups. What is important is that you make progress each week, if you did 3 knee pushups last week, try to do 3 1/2 knee pushups this week.

How do you get a massive chest? Most bodybuilders say “do lots of heavy bench press” – I disagree. There are two types of chest exercises, pushing exercisees (like bench press and pushups) and squeezing exercises (like pec deck and dumbbell flys). You need to do both to maximize your chest development. For me personally, the squeezing chest exercises have given me much better mass and strength gains than the pushing type exerciess.
The king of the squeezing exercises is the dumbbell fly and its easy to do at home with just a used set of dumbbells. Heres how you do it.:
lay on floor
together)
knees up, abs flexed (lower back support)
shoulder back, shoulder blades together
arms perpendicular to sides
elbows slightly bent
go sloooooly up and slooooowly down
flex you chest at top of rep
Warning straight armed is much more difficlut than elbows bent because of leverage. Decrease your weight till you can do these with your arms almost straight. Many times you will see people doing WAY more than they should and they do them like this (demo). No, use less weight. Why? Because then you can spot yourself. At about rep 6 when you cant do another straight armed one, bend your elbows slightly. This increases your leverage and makes it easier on your pecs, now you can do 2 or 3 more. When you cant do any more reps, bend your elbows a bit more. This way, you can do forced reps safely.
The reason I do this on the floor is for safety, please see this video for more info:

This video is in preparartion for my advanced killer chest workout video where dumbbell flys will have a prominent role.

This is part three of my advanced pushup series. I will be doing 5 different types of advanced pushups and then I will combine them into one heck-of-a-chest workout.
This is a hip-pushup. It is very intense because almost 100% of your bodyweight is on your chest and almost none is on your feet. In this pushup variant, your hands pushup from your hips and your arms brush along your sides as you go up.
This is NOT a beginners exercise, it is for advanced bodybuilders only. If you have not been lifting for at least 6 months, dont even consider doing this because you will most likely get injured.
There are several other unique exercises in my advanced pushup series that I will be putting up individually also. Thanks for your patience, the advanced pushup video IS coming but it takes a long time to edit.

Go to http://www.fatlosslifestyle.com & I will teach YOU little known Nutrition Principles that will force you to gain muscle & lose fat faster than ever.
The “Med Ball Push-Ups” is one of the best movements to stimulate growth for your chest. It is an awesome functional, athletic movement for you athletes. Remember, you will work the target muscle better by visualizing the target muscle.
Go slow (a 3-1-3 tempo), and visualize that you are squeezing water out of a sponge in the chest. Think about pushing the elbows apart as you go down, pause at the bottom feeling the chest stretch, and slowly push the elbows toward the middle on the way up.
The Med Ball Push-Ups works not only your pec major and minor in a very unique way, but because of the instability factor, works the smaller underlying muscles and tendons in a very positive way as well.
If I can get one point across to you it would be; the major key for you to make your muscles grow, relating to specific exercises is that you need to stimulate the muscle with unique tensions that they have not felt before by doing new exercises and putting the mind in the muscle and visualize squeezing the target muscle. For the most part, keep the rep tempo slow; 3 seconds down, pause for 1 second (squeezing the target muscle) and 3 seconds up.
You will not make your muscles grow by going heavier with your major lifts like the bench press, and dumbbell press. In fact if you continue to lift with the “How Much You Bench” mentality you will end up getting hurt and you will lose all the hard earned muscle you have worked for.
Remember it is not how much weight you lift, but it is how you lift it.

The “Med Ball Push Ups” should be a vital part of shocking your chest into new growth. This movement really allowed me to take my physique to a professional “drug free for life bodybuilder at the age of 43 years old; & I am in the best shape of my life. I know you can do it too. All the time it takes is 4-5 hours per week, with a well thought out plan.
You can work-out till your blue in the face but if you do not incorporate Interval Cardio (done first thing in the morning in a fasted state), intense functional multi-joint, compound exercises, small healthy meals often with protein and carbs combined together, positive mindset, goal setting & social support (you will turn into who you hang around) you will not change your body much. Physique development is about losing fat
(to show the shape of the muscle) as much if not more than building muscle. It is definitely a combination of the two.
But if you do focus on the 5 pillars of fitness & health, you will radically change your waistline, your lifestyle, and your life. For more incredible before and after testimonials;

Here is an advanced chest workout you can do at home with a cheap dumbbell set. Big gyms are nice but when you can get a killer workout at home without the overhead of getting to and from the gym. This workout is a complete 70 minute workout and consists of four supersets.
superset 1: incline dumbbell press and flys
superset 2: dumbbell press from the hip and thumbs up flys
superset 3: incline flys and ultrawide pushups
superset 4: pushups, flys, and dumbbell press
We will do each superset three times and take 2-3 minutes rest between. Use a weight that lets you do 5-7 reps with good form. This is an intense workout and this is not meant to be used every week, just do this workout now and then to shake things up.
By the way, I’m not a very original or creative person, I get all the ideas for my mock-infomercials from real-life ads – isnt that scary? I just assemble them in a way so that its clear how ridiculous the claims are. There are people, who shall remain nameless, who comment on my vids and claim results as ridiculous as PecFuel5000 – I’m sure these people are just acting as sales people for these scam companies. Remember, be a critical thinker. Never believe those anecdotal “amazing” results stories at the gym, in magazines, or on the internet. … and remember, your Grandma was always right. If it SOUNDS too good to be true, then it IS. Dont be a sucker. Demand real evidence before buying any fitness product/supplement/program. If it is as great as they say then there will be a published ,peer-reviewed article in a respectable publication about a double blind study with a large sample size proving how great it is. Be wary of those “research studies” paid for by the company itself that “proves” how effective their product is.
As with all dumbbell exercises, form is key if you want to maximize your muscle building efforts and minimize the chance of injury. Don’t use too much weight, if you can’t do the exercise slowly then you need to go lighter. Count aloud “one onethousand, two onethousand, three onethousand” on the way up and the way down, if you cant do this on this exercise then you are using too much weight. The reason this exercise method maximizes your muscle growth is because it confines the motion to the muscle you are trying to work out, if your body squirms, swings, and kicks, all you are doing is taking the focus away from the muscle you are trying to exercise.

Here is a great chest workout you can do at home with a cheap dumbbell set. Big gyms are nice but when you can get a killer workout at home without the overhead of getting to and from the gym. In this chest workout we are going to do pushups, then with no rest immediately do flys, then with no rest immediately do dumbbell press. Make sure and use a much lighter weight than you usually would on the flys and dumbbell press because after the pushups you wont have much left in you. After doing this set of three exercises, wait 2-5 minutes and do it again. Do 5-8 sets like this and you will be sore the next day.
